HOW TO USE URGOSTART PLUS TREATMENT RANGE
RANGE

Treatment to reduce healing time with the unique TLC-NOSF Healing Matrix.

UrgoStart Plus Pad and UrgoStart Plus Border also contain poly-absorbent fibres which bind, trap and retain exudate, slough and debris present in the wound, keeping it clean throughout healing.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
  1. Cleanse the wound bed as per your local protocol

  2. Dry the surrounding skin carefully

  3. Apply the soft-adherent side of UrgoStart Plus Pad or UrgoStart Plus Border directly to the wound ensuring contact with the wound bed

  4. UrgoStart Plus Pad can be cut using sterile scissors if required. If using UrgoStart Plus Border the adhesive silicone border should be at least 1cm away from the wound

  5. If using UrgoStart Plus Pad cover with a secondary dressing if necessary, considering the location and level of wound exudate, and secure it in place with a bandage

  6. Remove the dressing when it becomes saturated and clean the wound if required. During desloughing, the wound may appear to get larger due to the gradual elimination of slough

  7. UrgoStart Plus Pad and UrgoStart Plus Border can be left in place for up to 7 days, but it is recommended to change the dressing every 1-2 weeks at treatment initiation.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

You may see an increase in the level of exudate when you initiate UrgoStart Plus treatment. We recommend to change the dressing more frequently when there is a high level of exudate. You may also combine with a super-absorbent dressing of your choice, as secondary dressing, if needed.

If you observe overgranulation and the wound stops progressing, re-assess the patient and exclude other
causes (eg. infection).

WHAT TO DO IF THE WOUND BECOMES INFECTED
  • Refer to your local antibiotic guidelines

  • Appropriate dressing selection as per local wound infection guidelines

  • If UrgoStart Plus or UrgoStart Contact treatment is stopped, once the wound is clear of infection restart treatment until complete healing.
